Hindi Speech Competition winners

Mr Shankar writes:

Pranay of Room 19 and Prateek of Room 20, represented our school to the Annual Hindi Speech competition hosted by the Hindi Language and Culture Trust of New Zealand. This year there were a record number of 36 orators in the Primary, Intermediate and High School category. From the Intermediate division, there were 18 orators that competed for the top 3 positions.

Pranay, won the first place and

Prateek won the third place respectively.

Both the boys spoke on the  topic: " Hindi ko badhawa dena mera swapna hae", which  means,  "It is my dream to promote the Hindi language". We congratulate both our students for doing us proud! We would also  like to say a very big thank you to Pranay and Prateek's parents for their  continued support and allowing the students to represent Papatoetoe Intermediate School at this competition.

Our mother tongue is our identity!  "We do not know where we are going, unless we know where we came from"  - Thaman Konai-Helu ( Professor and famous Pacific poetess).
